Since incorporating on January 11, 2000, counterclaim has grown from its two founders to a staff of over 15 people. With the help of the Lundquist Center for Entrepreneurship and its noted incubation program, counterclaim has drawn talent, knowledge, and resources from the University of Oregon. counterclaim has also relied on its diverse board of directors including the Chief Information Officer of Stanford Law School for guidance and leadership.
