Shogan Naidoo, J.D., M.B.A. - Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder

Shogan earned a Bachelor's degree from UC Berkeley and a JD, MBA from the University of Oregon. His experience in the legal domain, Internet business and marketing, software design, creation of knowledge management tools, and designing best practices workflow-training programs are valuable skills he brings to counterclaim. As the founder and CEO, Mr. Naidoo is always striving to improve counterclaim's positioning, offerings, and customer satisfaction. Shogan has presented extensively on Case Management, E-Filing, and the benefits of Open Source technology. He is known for his enthusiasm, professionalism, and commitment to expanding the legal technology paradigm. When not working, Shogan enjoys sci-fi, the outdoors, spending time with his family, and participating in and training for road races and marathons.
 

James Beard, M.S. - Chief Technical Officer

Jim has been involved with Internet technology for the past 11 years and programming for over a dozen years. Jim attended the University of Oregon where he earned a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Computer Science. While in school, Jim helped design and implement Java DinoMorph, an application that enables paleontologists and other scientists to model dinosaur skeletons in a 3D workspace. Jim has also performed research in distributed systems, designing and implementing a distributed, peer-to-peer job server, and process compatibility over distributed systems. Over the past several years Jim has kept current with XML and legal related XML developments. Aside from being incredibly knowledgeable, Jim has an exceptional ability to gain rapport and understanding with his customers. Mr. Beard has participated in the Georgia Interoperability project, the California Second Generation Electronic Filing Specifications, and OXCI. He is familiar with the current state of legal industry related XML specifications and has published a number of articles regarding the state of Open Source software in the legal industry. In his spare time Jim enjoys gaming, playing pool, and going to shows.
 

Michelle Naidoo - Vice President of Sales

Michelle has been working with both private industry and government as a sales executive for 10 years, and joined the counterclaim team in 2002. Working with customers to find win-win solutions to fill their IT needs, Ms. Naidoo has been successful in bringing counterclaim's offerings to the forefront in the court technology arena. Despite the long selling cycle, "people buy from people they like," and overwhelmingly people love working with counterclaim. Michelle's outgoing personality, warm nature, and teamwork approach have been extremely beneficial as her focus on the customer enables her to build relationships while growing the business. In her free time Michelle enjoys spending time with her family, reading, photography, bicycling, and volunteering.
 

Jordan Bishko, J.D., M.B.A. - Business Development Manager

Mr. Bishko has for several years been consulting for established businesses and start up companies. Mr. Bishko has also had entrepreneurial ventures including the formation of his own company that designs and markets soft goods for the wine connoisseur accessory market as well as the licensing of a patent for the sale and production of coffee impregnated with botanical extracts. Prior to these experiences, Mr. Bishko was a business writer for Palo Alto Software. His attention to detail and ability to think "outside the box" brings exceptional value to the counterclaim management team. Mr. Bishko holds a J.D. from the Willamette University College of Law and an M.B.A. from Willamette University's Atkinson Graduate School of Management. In his spare time Jordan trains for and competes in both bicycle racing and snowshoeing competitions.
 

The technical team is rounded out by four other engineers: Ben Barrett, Sarah Cronholm, Jay Schneider, and Jim Suruda.
